a sugar inflation factory event held on May 3, 2013, was produced by Tanner BowmanEmily Haasch, Katie Hung, Jasmine MarinJacy NordmeyerHaley Ressl and hosted by small-batch design brand ODLCO. The event featured a re-engineering of sugar pulling and blowing techniques readily employed by pastry chefs for decorative centerpieces. The group developed a special taffy recipe using a synthetic sugar substitute which was blown into molds and freeform, hollow shapes then distributed to participants for consumption.
